Dinner! For me, at least...

This is what I had for dinner:
  • Italian Sub - Salami, Pepperoni, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato and more on Parmesan Asiago bread

  • Pizza flavored Combos

  • Big ol' Coors Light (hey, I'm not going anywhere tonight)

But as I walked back from the Travel Plaza where I got this, I was thinking...

Would someone with Crohn's or Colitis be able to eat this meal? I can't remember everything that "Mara" or "Gus" cannot have, but I'm pretty sure lettuce is one thing that they have to be careful of. And Combos? Well, they may be tasty, but I'm pretty sure they aren't 'good' for anybody!

Anyway, just keeping all those Crohn's and Colitis-affected people in my thoughts tonite as I enjoyed my meal. And reminded myself how blessed I am that I don't have to worry about such things. Another reason that we need to find a cure! Who needs the hassle of worrying about *everything* you eat?!

  1. This is so TRUE Gordon, we do take what we eat for granted. If you have Crohn's or Colitis, share on the blog what your dining options are at a Travel Plaza.

  2. SO true. I have crohn's. First of all, IF I was lucky enough to be able to travel far enough away from a bathroom to get to a travel plaza, ad IF I was able to eat that day, it would surely be something bland. Crackers, pretzels and water. Never all the spicy stuff in the sub, and definitely not the beer!

Thank you for what you are doing, Gordon!

IF I was having a good day and was able to travel far enough away from a bathroom to get to a travel plaza, and IF I was able to eat something that day, it would definitely not be a spicy sub, veggies and beer! It would be saltine crackers, pretzels and water.

Thank you for what you are doing, Gordon!
