Day Three Pics

I took a ton of pics today, but here's the ones with the best stories-

This is Cindy and Carol, who were working at the Cenex Museum Drive Gas Station, where I stopped for a bite after the first 100 miles. (And where the rain began). I still had another 60 miles of North Dakota to go, and it was all rain.
These two made up for it though! This is where I remembered that it was only 7 am in Mountain Time

Good Grief! Get me into Montana, poste haste! You can see the sky clearing in the background. That was as welcome a sign as .... the sign!

And that other sign? That's for my wife. I didn't know she had her own sign! (Her nickname in HS was 'Bump'....volleyball player, go figure.

Two of three Ohio riders I caught in Glendive, Montana. They were pulling out as I pulled in so I didn't get a chance to talk to them. I did notice Ohio plates though!

This is Ben from Glendive. He was a REALLY nice guy. Chatted on for a bit about the things we take for granted and that Montanans enjoy as everyday pleasures (like 100 mile trips just to go to WalMart!) Hey Ben, did your kids ever go online to see what this blog was all about? Heaven knows you're too lazy to do it!

I got to Wolf Point, Montana and fueled up at some rinky dink gas station. I was afraid the inside of the building was soon to be quarantined for some rare disease, so I went to McD's to ...get some relief.
As I pulled in the lot, this INDIANA bike was sitting there. (Notice it's delightful ORANGE color). The rider was...taking up a stall. He is a Purdue student (Lafayette) doing an internship in Minot, ND and had gone to Kalispell, Montana to do some rafting and other non-fun outdoor activities. He was headed back to Minot. I didn't get his name, nor bother to ask him how many times he ran out of gas regularly, since he carried a spare container!

Before I spoke to 'feeling much better now' Student, these two pulled up for lunch. Note the plate: INDIANA!
What are the odds that they would also be from Lafayette and traveling to Glacier National Park? All three of us (four, technically) from a few hours apart, now in the same McD's parking lot more than 1,000 miles away! Weird!

had to take this one. Fueled up in Malta, or something, and this was across the street. Right next to another store called "Big G's!". Weirdness abounds!

These two were hilarious, eh? This is Patty and Jan from Saskatoon. (PJ's! Get it?) They were on their way (a day late) to the Motor Maids rally in Cody, Wyoming. I think Jan had a bike problem or something that delayed them. In any case, they were very interested in my cause and promised to look up this blog. Now, let's see if they comment. But first, give them a chance to get back home.

I can't get his picture to load, but I also met Charles in Havre (prounouced, Have-ur). He was pretty funny too. He has a Honda Dream (one of the first Hondas ever sold in the US as a commercial Honda motorcycle.

Hope you enjoy!
